making sense of climate change

Climate Change Strategic Development, Research & Think-Pieces

At the heart of our work for clients is our strategic ‘think pieces’ and research which has helped guide and innovate strategic development for various organisations. We cut to the core issues and key science, shed light on current debates, and unravel future scenarios and business opportunities.

We bring a wealth of experience, including clients we have worked with, to show how businesses can position themselves for a carbon constrained world, and how positive action can yield results without waiting for regulation.

The Carbon Journey
At the core of our thinking is our ‘carbon journey’ framework.

Click here for "An Introduction to the Carbon Journey".

We’ve used the Carbon Journey to assist strategy development with many of our well-known clients. This helps to get beyond ‘carbon management’ and the diversions of offsetting to achieve a robust and profitable climate change strategy and deliver business success in a carbon-constrained world.

Our approach is not prescriptive, but tailored to the specific needs of the businesses we work with. Climate change leadership ultimately involves positive engagement with all major stakeholders – employees, customers, suppliers and shareholders.

Think-Pieces & Research

Our philosophy is to create and innovate by communicating difficult subjects using short, concise reports.

Examples of our work are:

  • BT Hot Topic - What would a truly carbon neutral BT look like?

Just over three years ago, BT asked us to answer this question. We took them beyond the question and described why neutrality was not the end goal, and how a 'carbon positive' BT could provide real opportunities and leadership.  See the report by clicking BT Hot Topic.

  • CDP Public Procurement Report

Recently we have been commissioned by the Carbon Disclosure Project to write their disclosure report for the UK government-backed Public Procurement Report. This report detailed the emission disclosures for a number of key governmental suppliers providing an innovative insight into supply chain issues. You can see the report CDP Public Procurement Report.
